Why Manifesting Might Not Be As Easy As It Looks

A sunset over a lake

If deliberate manifesting were as easy as it looks then literally everyone who's heard about the law of attraction would be living the life of their dreams and creating incredible success, health and wealth for themselves and the people they love.

But why isn't this the case? Why does manifestation seem to work incredibly well for some people and yet some just have mixed results? Sometimes it seems to work, other times it doesn't seem to work.

The concept is easy

While the concepts of manifestation are easy to grasp and understand, the problem comes down to the implementation of the actual manifesting process. The majority of people are not really quite ready or prepared or willing to put down the concepts of manifestation into practise. And I can assure you that there is work to be done!

This is usually the biggest misconception you get from a lot of law of attraction teachers, "You don't have to put any work into it." And yes, you don't have to put any work into it but the kind of work we're talking about here is physical work.

You don't have to physically manipulate things to make your imaginal acts a reality, however, you still have to put in another type of work and that is mental work.

Are you prepared to put in the work?

Being prepared to put mental work into your manifestations is what Neville Goddard used to call being faithful to your imaginal acts. Constantly feeding energy and attention into your imaginal acts is the only difference between success and failure. Being faithful to your imaginal acts means, you're prepared to put in the work and live your life as though the thing you desire were a fact right now, regardless of what may be happening in your life.

It can be likened to being faithful to your spouse or partner. It's a choice you make that is not forced upon you, you're faithful because you choose to be faithful, period. You choose to be faithful because you love your spouse and you deeply care about them and their well being and their feelings. And it's a choice you make regardless of what life throws at you, or what your spouse does.

If you put in the same amount of commitment into your imaginal acts and choose to live your life as if your imaginal acts were a fact, regardless of what you observe in your environment every single time, then you will begin to have success after success.

I can assure you that this is not an easy thing to do, it requires real discipline to ignore real events happening all around you that contradict your imaginal acts every time. It requires a considerable amount of effort to mentally condition your mind to be happy and content with what you have right now, even though your desire hasn't showed up yet.

It may require considerable effort in the beginning but things will get easier

It's even harder in the beginning when you're just starting out with nothing but the hope that your desire will become a reality. But I can assure you that things will get easier as you continue to persevere in your imaginal acts as Neville used to call it.

Things will get easier because you will start to see things all around you slowly beginning to change and you will get the assurance you desperately need that what you desire is on its way. However, in the very beginning, you will be in a lonely period and you will have no choice but to trust the process.

In the beginning, you're more like a pilot who is flying in the middle of a very, very dark night and has nothing but his instruments to tell him where he is and where he is headed. In this situation, the pilot has no choice but to trust his instrument and put his life and the lives of his passengers behind that trust.

You also have to put all your trust behind the manifestation process and have the absolute knowing that what you desire will become a reality.

Even before your desire is actualized you will begin to see change, you will begin to see little snippets of the bigger picture and these will solidify further your faith and trust in the process.

How clear is your vision?

Another reason manifestation is not easy is because a lot of people don't really know what they want. Someone thinks they want a particular thing and then they begin the manifesting process only for them to change their mind and begin the whole manifestation process all over again.

For example, someone thinks that their dream car is a Mercedes Benz, then they begin the manifesting process and visualization. However, unknown to them, things start happening behind the scenes to bring them closer to their dream.

Then suddenly, they change their mind and decide that they want a Ferrari instead and begin the whole process all over again only to change their mind again. You can already begin to see why a person like this will not really have any tangible success when it comes to manifesting.

For you to be successful you must know what you want and have a laser focus on bringing it to fruition, but a lot of the time, many people don't have this sort of commitment. This is what Neville always cautioned his students against.

"Now, you can't be double-minded. "Let not the man think he will receive anything from the Lord if he is double-minded, for he is nothing more than a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind." Neville Goddard

Lastly, learn to tame your mind

However, while knowing what you want and being faithful to your desire is important in the manifesting process, there is still another area that many people overlook.

You must actively control your emotions and thoughts. You must constantly divert attention, your thoughts and emotions back to your desire.

Like I've already mentioned, it's like driving a car. You constantly have to make small changes in the direction all the time to stay on course and reach your destination.

If you let other people and circumstances constantly affect how you feel at any given time, then you will have a really hard time reaching the destination that is your desire.

You must constantly monitor your mental chatter and the thoughts that pop up in your head. You must never allow anything to divert your attention from your mental reality and how you see your life to have changed. You must never allow anything, any circumstance or thoughts to corrupt your desire.
